Skylands Detecting Long Valley, New Jersey

Lost a ring in the grass, the leaves, or the lake?

I find lost rings, keys, and property pins across Northwest New Jersey with professional metal detecting equipment. Most searches take an hour or two.

Call or text. Same-day and weekend searches are usually possible.

Do this first

  • Stop searching. Every pass pushes the item deeper into the turf or sand.
  • Don't mow, rake, or blow leaves in the area.
  • Mark the spot where you think it happened, even roughly.
  • Note what you were doing when it came off — throwing a ball, toweling off, taking off gloves.

Then call. The sooner I search, the better. Items lost in a lawn are usually recovered the same day. Items lost in water or leaf litter are still very findable if the area hasn't been disturbed.

What I find

  • Rings, bracelets, earrings, and pendants — gold, silver, platinum
  • Keys, key fobs, and car keys
  • Property pins and boundary markers hidden under lawn or brush
  • Watches, phones, hearing aids, and other small metal items

Lawns, gardens, leaf piles, gravel driveways, wooded lots, sand beaches, and freshwater lakes and streams up to knee depth.

Where I work

Morris, Warren, Hunterdon, and Sussex counties, plus nearby parts of Somerset and Passaic. I'm based in Long Valley and can reach most of the area within an hour or two.

How it works

  1. You call or text. Tell me what you lost, where, and when. A few questions is all it takes to plan the search.
  2. We set a time. Often the same day. You or someone who knows the spot should be there to point me to it.
  3. I search. A tight grid of the area with one of the most sensitive metal detectors made.
  4. You get it back. When I find it, it's yours. The ground is left as I found it.

Rates depend on the search — where it is, how big the area is, and whether it's on land or in water. I'll give you an estimate when you call, before I come out.
